If you stand close enough you’ll smell licorice. Why? Because I sprayed the entire strawberry patch with a dilution of anise oil. Anise (Pimpinella anisum) is the herb (and vegetable too) which is used to flavor licorice. Squirrels and birds hate the smell of it, and so will not eat my crop of plump, delicious [...]

A feather-friend visited the free shower following a thirty-minute thunderstorm. It missed the bathtub by one day, as the rain-barrel was re-installed in that very location. His friends probably thought he was a liar when they returned the next day to partake in the shower.

Nineteen-years ago I ordered this Swiss Army watch through the mail. I think my son had been gestating for a month at the time. About a month before his birth the package finally arrived.
